Will the text in my PDF still be selectable afterwards?
No. Our compression works by re-rendering each page as an optimised image, so the output is a picture of your document rather than selectable text. That makes it ideal for scanned documents and photo-heavy PDFs, but not for files where you need to copy text or keep it searchable.
How much smaller will my PDF get?
Scanned documents and image-heavy PDFs typically shrink by 40–80%. A PDF that is mostly plain text is already small and may not shrink much at all.
Why did my PDF not get any smaller?
Because it was already well optimised. Rather than hand you a bigger file, we detect this and give you your original back untouched.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

What do the compression levels do?
